In collaboration with BWB Surface Technology, the Section Column Light and Section Coffee Table introduce a new dimension to anodized aluminum through a specialized shrink-wrap dye technique.

The project emerged from hands-on experimentation with hand-anodizing, focusing on a process that shrink-wraps aluminum during coloring. With this intervention in a typically industrial technique, the dyes flow naturally along the creases created by the wrap, forming a rippling, multi-color texture. Each piece undergoes two color stages: a bold yellow base layered with a deep purple-blue finish on the Coffee Table and a bright violet on the Column Light, leaving glimpses of raw aluminum exposed.

Each component of the Section Column Light and Section Coffee Table is individually anodized and then assembled, allowing intricate, textured patterns to emerge that invite closer exploration. This experimental approach reshapes aluminum as a dynamic, expressive material, highlighting the interplay of color and texture with aluminum’s raw, metallic essence.

Alongside the Section Column Light and Section Coffee Table, we also hand-anodized a Camber Stool with a single-layer purple-blue finish, allowing much of the original aluminum color to show through the anodized layer, adding a new perspective to the anodizing technique.
